Kathleen Mar

Kathleen Mar’s work focuses on the nexus of climate, air pollution, and health. She holds a Ph.D. in atmospheric chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley and worked at the United States Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA) prior to joining the IASS, where she leads the group Climate Action in National and International Processes (ClimAct). She is a Senior Associate at the Women Leaders for Planetary Health.

Women Leaders for Planetary Health (WLPH) is a network and knowledge hub that operates at the intersection between human and ecosystem health, and gender equity. Its mission is to bridge the inequality gap that still exists related to gender in leadership roles, while demonstrating the benefits of gender equality for sound environmental and public health solutions, particularly in the Global South. WLPH was launched at the UN Climate Summit in 2019 (COP25) with the support of the Institute for Advanced Sustainability Studies (IASS) in Potsdam, Germany.
