The International Youth Day on 12 August provided a special occasion to highlight the relevance of youth for a sustainable transformation of agricultural and food systems. Felix Chiyenda, Programme Officer of the National Youth Council of Malawi, reports on how youth organizations are driving change and creating prospects for the future. RiffReporter journalist Leonie March presents Biscate, a local Mozambican start-up that finds jobs for informal workers for free, without internet, data or smartphones.
Journalist Jan Rübel talks to Ally-Raza Qureshi from the World Food Programme in Iraq – is the country slowly emerging from crisis or heading for a much bigger hunger crisis? Dr Niladri Sekhar Bagchi draws on his experience in India to explain how smallholder farmers can be taken into account when opening up new export markets for agricultural products. der Internationale Tag der Jugend am 12. August gab einen besonderen Anlass, die Relevanz von Jugendlichen für eine nachhaltige Transformation der Agrar- und Ernährungssysteme hervorzuheben. Felix Chiyenda, Programmbeauftragter des National Youth Council of Malawi, berichtet, wie Jugendorganisationen den Wandel antreiben und Zukunftsperspektiven schaffen. Leonie March, Journalistin bei RiffReporter, stellt Biscate vor, ein lokales Start-Up aus Mosambik, welches informellen Arbeitnehmer*innen kostenlos und ohne Internet, Daten und Smartphones Jobs vermittelt.
